Fig and Walnut Bread

A timeless delight, this bread combines the rich taste of Galil Figs with the nuttiness of walnuts, all held together with premium Stybel bread flour. Perfect for a hearty breakfast or a cozy evening snack, this bread offers a sweet and savory experience with every slice.

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, pour boiling water over the chopped Galil figs and let them soak for about 10 minutes. Drain the water and set aside.
  3. In a separate large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing well.
  7. Stir in the soaked Galil figs and vanilla extract, and chopped walnuts
  8. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the fig and walnut bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
